Diesel is a devious BR Class 08 Shunter
who was brought to Sodor from the Other Railway on trial to help out. He hated steam engines, mainly Duck, and even tried to get him to leave. His ways have gotten sent away numerous times but to steam engines' dismay, he usually comes back when no other engine is available to help.
